Symphoniker Hamburg extends Sylvain Cambreling chief conductor contract until 2028

Prof. Dr. Burkhard Schwenker, Chairman of the Supervisory Board, says: "Knowing that Sylvain Cambreling is close to our side makes me very positive and marks apath to a good future. Artistic Director Prof. Daniel Kühnel says: "The collaboration with Sylvain Cambreling, one of the most renowned andprofessional conductors of our time, is exhilarating for everyone involved and has deepened in a remarkable way even during the lockdown. With him at the helm, the Symphoniker Hamburg manage to continue their tradition in a relevant way and at the sametime open up new artistic territory. Their task as the residence orchestra of the Laeiszhalle is always breathed into surprising and convincing meaning. The trust between the orchestra and the chief conductor is constantly growing, and the path ahead of us promises to be even more exciting than the one we have taken so far."
